Spring Skills Camp Registration ON NOW!

Happy Spring CYTF'ers..... It's time to start thinking about some tackle football again. CYTF is hosting our 5th annual "Spring Skills Camp" for kids of all ages (age 5 and up). This camp is non-contact and concentrates on football skills like footwork, positioning, leadership, position learning, and much more! Kids will have an opportunity to work at all positions (throwing, running, blockers, etc) and learn multiple things about football.

The cost for registering is $25.00/child and all proceeds benefit CYTF. CTYF coaches and staff will be on hand to lead and mentor the kids during the camps dates:

All Saturday mornings at the First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau (9-11AM each day)

Attention CYTF'ers.... Sign-Up Saturday, held at the Osage Center, will be held on Saturday, March 9. CYTF will have some Board Members present to discuss and hand out 2013 dates and to discuss and promote the Spring Skills Camp.

Cape Noon Optimist CHILI DAY

 

The Cape Noon Optimists, longtime sponsor of CYTF, are again sponsoring their annual "Chili Day" in Cape Girardeau on WEDNESDAY, March 6 from 11am - 7pm at the AC Brase Arena Building. The cost is $7.00 per and includes chili and all of the fixins to go with it. All proceeds benefit many youth organizations in Cape and surrounding areas, and includes CYTF. 

CYTF Names New Board and Conducts Business at 12.12.12 Board Meeting

Thanks to all of those that attended the Winter 2012 CYTF Board Meeting. In the two hours during the meeting, the following tasks were accomplished:

• CYTF officials nominated and voted on many new board members and positions:

Commissioner - Casey Sheehan
President - Roy Diamond
Treasurer - Lori Sheehan
Secretary - Marsha Medlin
At-Large Member - Francis McClard
Cape Noon-Optimist Liaison (Full Board Member) - Rodney Hurt

Congratulations to the new and continuing leadership for Cape Youth Tackle Football. Parents and friends should know that with the new leadership listed above, there is over 23 years of combined CYTF experience as a leaders, administrators, or parents.

Guests at the meeting last night included Cape Girardeau Football Head Coach Nathan Norman, Parks and Recreation Staff members Scott Williams and Kaed Horrell, and SE SportsCare representatives Hillarie Mueller and Matt Carter.

Other agenda items included:

• Proposed dates for CYTF activities for the spring, summer, and fall 2013 were discussed and approved. Championship day will again be held at Cape Central High School. The date is Saturday, October 26, 2013.
• CYTF made over $3,000.00 in profit for the previous year and sits with about $11,000.00 to start for 2013.
• Discussions of a new "athletic training program" provided by SE SportsCare was presented and discussed.
• Officiating, staffing needs to control the new scoreboards, and chains assistance were also discussed.

Several discussions took place regarding an array of topics. Minutes from the meeting will soon be placed online in the "Forms" section to the right.

CYTF Fall Board Meeting to be Held Dec 12

The Cape Youth Tackle Football Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the Student Recreation Center on the campus of SE Missouri State University. ALL parents or friends are invited to attend. We will have several items on thew agenda to discuss that evening:

• Scoreboards and the installation schedule for the 2013 season
• Election of officers for the next two years. Several positions are up for vote.
• Recap of the 2012 season, including Championship Day on October 27.
• A review of league policies and procedures
• Full and complete financial report
